Pop Art Kiki--Art Quilt

This is a cute photo of my granddaughter Kiki (Kiana) taken by her mother, my daughter, Ku’ulei. Using Photoshop, Ku’ulei changed the photo of Kiki into a pop art image.
When Ku’ulei shared this image with me, I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
(Pop Art Kiki, Art Quilt, crystal, 8" x 10")

My adaptation, Pop Art Kiki. This is machine applique and machine quilted. My 8" x 10" art quilts are created ready to hang or frame. This piece is hanging in our family room.

DISCOVERY FRIDAY

Fun Artists Forums

Everyday Matters is a forum that grew out of Danny Gregory’s weblog and book, Everyday Matters. This forum's main focus is drawing and creating illustrated journals. However, they welcome creative people from all disciplines. They have a drawing challenge list of over one hundred items to complete and post on their blogs or in their Flickr group. Their group includes members of varying degrees of ability and experience.

Illustration Friday is a weekly illustration challenge. A topic is posted every Friday and then participants have all week to come up with their own interpretation. Another helpful part of Illustration Friday is the art forum. The art forum is meant to build a creative community, a safe place to discuss creative issues, ask questions or just get feedback on your work.

Scribble Talk is a forum for everyone interested in pencil. Scribble Talk's media forums include colored pencil, graphite pencil, mixed media, pastel pencils and watercolor pencils.

WetCanvas! has almost every type of art media forums imaginable, including colored pencils, photography, clay, acrylics, art business, art history, sculpture, miniature art and many more.
