Fabric Postcards

“Sunflower Series 02," by Claudia

Claudia from Washington sent me this cleverly composed sunflower postcard. The sun and its rays peeking out from the lower left corner is also the sunflower and its petals. The arched stem and leaf of the sunflower could also represent a rainbow and clouds. Brilliant!Using Batiks or hand-dyed fabrics, the sunflower is hand appliqued using buttonhole stitching.

Claudia serves as our list mom. She organized our exchange group and keeps us on track. Thanks, Claudia!

"Forever Friends," by Jan

Jan from Virginia is the kind of friend with whom you want to go shopping or have lunch. Her email posts in our exchange group are delightful and encouraging. Her zest for life is contagious.

Jan made this precious postcard out of vintage hankies from a local quilter who passed away several years ago. The card is a treasure by itself. Knowing these sentiments makes it even more special. Your friend lives on through your postcards, Jan. Thanks for sharing her with us. A sweet postcard from a sweet friend. Thanks, Jan!
