(Crystal, Fabric Postcard, 4" x 6")

It was almost dark, and Frostee Jr. needed to head back home. He walked down Tokyo Drive and turned right and walked past the large Skating Rink. He walked past Wild Thymes Lane, and turned left onto Exchange Avenue, walked down the Avenue and turned left onto Candy Cane Court, and walked past Jacq's house, and Bunny's Gingerbread Cottage, and Dove's house. Finally, he turned right onto Wonder Lane and went home.

Frostee Jr. slouched as he slowly climbed the stairs to his cottage. When he reached the porch, he removed a tiny pink box tied with pretty pink ribbon from his pocket. He had made a special gift for Crystal with the help of his mom, and he was excited to give it to her. He paused, staring at the spaces in the wooden floor while thinking about his long day's search. He did not see Crystal standing at the door. She was excited to give him his gift and had been waiting for him all day.

"You're finally home," said Crystal smiling.

Frostee Jr. looked up and saw Crystal holding a blue box with a silver ribbon. He smiled a big smile.

After searching the neighborhood the entire day, Frostee Jr. found what he had been looking for at "Home."

"Home" is defined in many ways. It can be a place of refuge, a place one feels "safe"--or not--or a place one resides. "Home" can symbolize a place of birth, a beginning, a person, one's self, or it can represent something intangible such as feeling "whole" or "complete" or "fulfilled."

Sometimes we may search for that "thing" that will bring more--more success, more happiness, more . . . but sometimes that "thing" we may be looking for may be found at "Home."

As one of my grandchildren's book says "home is the best nest". Thank you for your story and may we all be home with family for Christmas.

"Home is the best nest"--now that could inspire another story. ;-D

Merry Christmas, Jacq.

Oh, isn't Crystal precious! She was well worth the wait and "adventure".

Mele Kalikimaka! 2007 was a great year, I met a great new friend. Here's to a prosperous and even more special 2008!

I love your picture! And one day when I was "taking a walk" through various links and drinking my Starbucks...I happened across your daughter's photography site. You and Tremayne have gorgeous daughters...I am sure they are as beautiful on the inside as they are on the outside. Look at their mom and dad.

Thanks for playing along with me and letting me have fun with your "character." ;-D

I chose this picture because I thought the "eyes" lead to a person's heart and reveals their true "self." Glad you like it.

The "heart" is a "home." Thanks, Cindy. Merry Christmas.
