Makayla's Quilt

(Makayla's Quilt, 49" x 45")

My daughter, Ku'uipo, asked me to make a quilt for her friend's daughter. There are twelve pieces to each hexagon block. My idea was to create spinning stars. Although I designed my own pattern for this quilt, I've seen similar designs by other artists. I embroidered Makayla's name at the top of the quilt and incorported the fabric from each block into the pieced border.

Beautiful Fannie! Those stars are not easy ;-) I especially like her name embroidered at the top.

Thanks, Cindy. This was a fun piece to create, but I prefer working on smaller pieces.
