A Fishy for Kiki

A Fishy for Kiki, Fabric Postcard, (4" x 6")
Fannie Narte

My granddaughter, Kiana (Kiki), has two favorite books at our house. One is an alphabet book, which has an "F" page for "Fish," and the other is a number book, which has a page of fishes. The next time she asks for "Fishy," I'll show her this card.

Whoa! We are definitely tuned into "something" together!

Yesterday, I was reading a book on creativity and thinking I would like to do some posts on my blog about the subject. The first theme I was considering was "fish"!

Hey, Cindy, we're definitely connected. Jump into the water, and we'll swim with our fishes. I can imagine you leading a "school" of fishes. ;-D

Fannie, love the fish. You continue to amaze me with your freehand stitching. However did you learn such control? I can make a mean stipple, but can't follow a straight line. Sherry in NC

Hi, Sherry. If you can make a mean stipple, I imagine you can create straight lines, curves, geometrics, anything you want--and you don't even know it yet. :-D

Most of my work is spontaneous--I don't do a line drawing. This piece started out to be a "leaf," but after the colors blended and dried, I thought it was screaming to be a "fishy." So I just started stitching, and a "sneaky" smile appeared on his face. Ha, ha.
