Lost in meditation,

Love falls softly,

~Fannie Narte~

WIP completed. I changed her hairstyle just a tad.

Here's a look at her without the frame.

Sometimes hearing a soothing voice, or hearing a memorable song, or reading powerful words, or seeing a thoughtful image can give one that extra push of courage to move one forward.

Love Falls Softly . . .

You are loved.

ah and there is a sweet completion! Very very nice LOVE the green eyes. Almost like she can see right through you :) Maybe she can but love tends to heighten the senses! Wonderful poem which has a wondeful Hiaku (spelling) quality I love it.

I have been out surfing some blogs and have come across portraits such as you have been studying and making. Believe me, your work is of excellent quality. I already thought it was and you seem happy with your efforts too but I thought I'd let you know that if you were to see some others yours would stand out. Everyone can learn techniques but only some have a spark to make it art.

wow Fannie...I love sweet and love what you have written here....I dedicated a special song to my Brother and his new wife at the Wedding and everyone cried while they listened to the words...It was a song we played at our ceremony....It has such great meaning and brings joy to my heart each and every time I hear it!!!

Steph, love does heighten the senses, doesn't it?

Thanks, Melissa!

Timaree, . . . "Everyone can learn techniques but only some have a spark to make it art." This is a goal of all artists, I think. It is for me. Thank you for your words of encouragement. I appreciate your validation. Thank you.

Thanks, Paula.

Nancy, you should have seen my Victorian Santa I painted last year--one of my first portraits. I couldn't figure out why he looked so lifeless . . . until one of my blog readers gently commented that he needed a "wee bit" white to his eyes to add "sparkle." I learned that a bit of white adds more than sparkle, it adds "life" and creates the window into the soul if done well. Since that time, I've focused on creating "soulful eyes in my portraits."

Diana, your brother's wedding sounds magical--with photos to prove it. ;-D I imagine your song added to the warmth of the event. It was nice of you to help create a wonderful and loving environment for the wedding. I'm sure your dedicated song will be a part of their wedding memories forever--and all who attended. Nice.

Thanks, Marianne.

Vanessa, I'm glad you could feel the calm I tried to portray in the piece.

Hi, Melinda. Enjoy the pattern. I hope it brings you sweet memories to replace the challenging times you recently faced.

Thanks, Everyone. Meaningful and caring comments do help me evolve. I pay attention to everything you say, and I value your input. Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. I am a better artist because of it.
