AAQI Art Quilt--The Joyful Heart

The Joyful Heart, Art Quilt, 8x10
© 2009 Fannie Narte

This art quilt will be donated to AAQI to benefit alzheimer's research. The black thread painting against the gentle and warm colors of the painted fabric and shine of the stipple quilting with iridescent thread provide contrast and balance. Ribbon embroidery roses, beads and Swarovski crystals add a bit of texture and interest.

The design of this quilt symbolizes the winding turns and curves of life's journey and our daily experiences. Sometimes we get so busy checking off to-do lists and we focus on completing goals and speedily move from one project to the next. Life happens. We experience challenges and triumphs. We sing and we dance. We win some and we lose some. We travel and we create. We fall and we stand. We write and we talk. We fall again and we stand up again. Life continues. Each day brings new experiences, new hopes and new joys.

Everyday we create memories that fill our hearts with joy. Most of us will be able to look back, reminisce, talk about the good ole' days, laugh, joke and remember--and some will not.

Trying to make a difference one art quilt at a time.
