Giveaway--From the Heart, Purposefully

Did you guess my giveaway's first item? Hints from yesterday's post: Begins with a "T," four letters in the word, shopping, carry, made of fabric.

It's a signed "Tote" bag!

Have you ever wondered who chose the word “Giveaway” for blog giveaways? I’m not saying that I don’t like the word . . . just wondering who chose the word. Our parents or loved ones usually give us our names at birth, but who chooses words for events and things like giveaways?

I know there are more important things to think about . . . like all those things on your “To Do” list, and your next painting, quilt, collage, poem, song or book, but who chooses the words in our dictionary, and who defines those words?

Do we choose the words we use on our blogs, in our conversations, in our letters, and in our e-mails, or do we rewrite the words we read on other blogs, or repeat what we hear in our conversations, letters or e-mails? Are the words we use our own, which come from our hearts, from our own experiences, from our own study? Are the words we choose spoken automatically, subconsciously or purposefully?

I know there are more important things to think about . . . like the laundry, shipping those Etsy items, working out, and finding a job, but who chooses the words we use?

Do the words you use define you? Do your words define what’s in your heart?

Have you ever considered that what you say, what you think, what you feel, what you imagine, what you aspire to be, shows up in your artwork?

Giveaway Item No. 1
Three Cats tote bag, 15" x 15," 10" handle

Hmmmm, what does my art say about me?

Three cats = three daughters

Each cat has a golden tail = each of my daughters have shared many golden “tales,” special golden tales a mother keeps safe in her heart.

All the cats look the same = no one is singled out or treated more than the other—all are loved and respected and has a permanent home in my heart.

Three cats stand on a piano keyboard = music is the universal language that brings understanding and love when shared from the heart.

Family, cherished moments, music, love . . . all this from three cats with golden tails.

I know there are more important things to think about . . . like how do you enter your name in this giveaway?

Just let me know that you’re interested in this giveaway by leaving your name in the comment module of this post. If you want to share your thoughts about what I’ve written, you’re welcome to do so, but it’s not necessary. If you want to share what you’re working on at the moment, I would enjoy reading that, too.

Giveaway Item No. 2

The book, “Simply Amazing Quilted Photography,” by Tammie Bowser
Tammie teaches you how to create mosaic quilts from your images and photographs.

MORE GIVEAWAY DETAILS

This is a one week giveaway. The winner will be announced on Friday, October 30. Be sure to come back each day this week because I’m going to fill this

flat rate box with magical goodies, each one is purposefully named, names which I chose because it expresses my heart. One winner will receive all the goodies in this box . . . it could be you.

Yes, there are more important things to think about, but sometimes it’s just fun to be silly and to be able to go to a safe place where you can let your imaginations run wild, where you can be who you are on the inside, where you can think from your heart and know that you are accepted and respected just as you are, where everything you create is magical.

Yes, friends, there are more important things to think about, but for just one moment, let's play, and imagine, create and inspire . . .

From my heart to yours, purposefully . . .

Love your tote, but I love your cats, so of course I love the tote. And you always give me something to think about. I think a lot of the words we use come from others or are spoken automatically. But it is so refreshing to hear or read original words. Your words are often original.

That is a beautiful tote and love the artwork, and the fact that they are cats, makes it a must have. I have been sick for weeks so working on lap projects to keep my hands busy. I finished a locker hooked rug tonight and I am also making a wall quilt that started with a dog picture I saw and decided to make into an appliqued hanging.

Words are something I'm defined by in all areas of my life. Like helping my son put his life back in perspective yesterday thru his depression. Art helps keep a part of us true to our personal lives. Yours is beautiful, your perspective for thought is much appreciated.
