Dance to the Music of Your Memories
Quilt #4236, AAQI Auction
© 2009 Fannie Narte

New high bidder for this quilt is "exmajo." Thank you!

Four days left for the AAQI Auction. Several quilts still need opening bids. All funds benefit Alzheimer's research.

This is my artist statement for "Dance to the Music of Your Memories":

Music is a symbol I frequently use in my artwork, which has special meaning. It represents a universal language that all will understand. It overrides intellectual analysis. It has no religious or political affiliations. It knows no handicaps. It accepts all. Music speaks directly to the heart. It stirs emotions, melts hard hearts and opens the soul to receive magical messages that heal, encourages and inspires kindness, lightheartedness, generosity and gratitude. Music knows no boundaries. Prejudice and judgment does not exist in music's inclusive world. It makes room for magic to fill the soul with ideas of possibilities and endless creativity and imaginative inventions. When an Alzheimer's patient loses his or her history, sometimes the only thing left to do is put on some music, hold and embrace the memories of your loved one in your heart and just dance to the music of your memories.

Remembering . . . sweet music . . .
