Work in Progress and Fabric Harvests

"The Words of the Past," Mixed Media Fiber Art, 16" x 28"
© 2010 Fannie Narte

My next "Pretty Little Mini Quilts" book giveaway is in the works. This is a peek at a portion of my next project from the book. The artist feature will be Janet Cooper, and her project is titled "Dress Shop Memories." My version of her project is titled "The Words of the Past." This project is broadening my third eye "seeing" and moving me in a joyful direction filled with new ideas, new projects, new visions . . . all exciting.

Here are two of my recent fabric harvests.

The white circles were made using an empty spool of thread and clear resist. Watersoluble wax pastels were used to color both pieces of fabric.

A rubber stamp was placed under the fabric and wax pastels were applied over the textured fabric.

Have a creative day!

Lovely Fannie... you make it sound so easy in your description, but I know there is much time/thought involved. Wonderful palette, textures and sentiment.
Have a great weekend. ;)
