The "Pretty Little Mini Quilts" Book Giveaway Winner is . . .

Congratulations, Brigitte! Please e-mail me your mailing address, and I'll ship a copy of "Pretty Little Mini Quilts" to you on the next plane.

Thanks to all who participated in this giveaway. I appreciate it.

Thanks, again, to Louise Papas for generously sharing her art.

THANKS, RAY

These book giveaways were fun, educational and inspiring. I hope they were for you, too. Through the generous book donations from Ray Hemachandra of Lark Books, I was able to share three books with three readers. Thanks, Ray!

ARTIST INTERVIEWS

Writing and publishing the artist interviews gave me insight into how other artists use different techniques to create their fiber art. Malka Dubrawsky introduced me to the art of itajime shibori, a Japanese dye technique. I also discovered that I have been using shibori-like techniques to add color to my hand painted fabrics. Thanks, Malka!

Through the interviews, I also learned that nothing will get in the way of an artist with passion, like Louise Papas. She finds spaces in her home to store her supplies, and she carves out snippets of time from her busy days to create her art. Thanks, Louise!

MY QUILT VERSIONS

Creating my quilt versions of Malka's, Janet's and Louise's projects gave me valuable insight into forms and techniques I had yet to explore. Such was the case when I created "The Words of the Past," my version of Janet Cooper's "Dress Shop Memories." The dress form has unlimited design possibilities. I have several dress art projects waiting to be produced. Thanks, Janet!

Sneaking a peek into the creative spaces of other artists is always fun. Thanks for sharing your photos with us Malka, Janet and Louise.

THANK YOU

Thank you for playing in each of my book giveaways! Knowing that you're out there makes my heart dance.

WHAT'S NEXT?

More art, more fabric giveaways . . . a peek into my creative spaces . . . book reviews . . . "maybe" more artist interviews . . . surprises . . . and, of course, more M a g I C . . .

Gratefully,
