The AAQI at IQF Houston

Video of Ami Simms and the Lovely Ladies of AAQI setting up at IQF Houston

The Alzheimer's Art Quilt Initiative® is a national, grassroots charity whose mission is to raise awareness and fund research. The AAQI auctions and sells donated quilts, and sponsors a nationally touring exhibit of quilts about Alzheimer's. They have raised more than $773,000 since January 2006.

This year I couldn't be with my AAQI friends in Houston.  So this post is dedicated to them and the important work we're all doing for Alzheimer's research.

Right now Ami and her team of volunteers are at the International Quilt Festival in Houston, Texas.  They took 2,185 quilts to sell and they don't want to take any quilts back home.  If you're in Houston, visit the AAQI booth in the Exhibit Hall, Row S, way up at the front of the hall in the George R. Brown Convention Center.  Take your family and friends and buy a quilt or two or three . . . shop for Christmas . . . shop for loved ones on your birthday list . . . buy quilts to decorate your home . . . buy quilts to use as "Thank You" gifts . . . support the AAQI, buy a quilt.

I saw a few of the posts with girls who bought some of the quilts, wonderful cause and way to bring them to others.
