If Monet Were in Hawaii

If I were in Giverny,
I would paint Monet's water lilies, and the bridge and his pond.
But I'm not in Giverny--I'm in Hawaii.
So I paint a leaf and a plumeria and pretend they are dancing in Giverny,
among Monet's water lilies, under the bridge in his pond.
Thanks, Monet.  Someday I will visit your Giverny.

Now that I've had a little play time with oils and brushes, I thought it was time to experiment with palette knife painting and oils.  Inspired by Monet's water lilies, without knowing that he inspired this piece . . . painting with a palette knife is freeing and a wonderful experience.
